The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds
by Paul Zindel

September 27-30
Winner of the 1971 Pulitzer Prize, this moving study of an embittered, vindictive widow and her two young daughters has been hailed as one of the most significant and affecting plays of our time. One daughter, Tillie, has an affinity for science and encouraged by her teacher, proves that something beautiful and full of promise can emerge from even the most barren soil.

Tickets for this production are $6.00 for adults, $5.00 for students

Box Office will be open from September 18 - 29, 2006
A Little Night Music
by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler

November 15-18
In turn-of-the-century Sweden, middle-aged Fredrik Egerman brings his 18-year-old bride to see a play starring his former mistress. Soon he and the actress rekindle their romance to the consternation of her present lover, a pompous count. The EKU Department of Music will again join forces with EKU Theatre to present this witty, stylish musical featuring Sondheim’s most melodious score and the popular “Send in the Clowns.”

Tickets for this production are $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for students

Box Office will be open from November 6 - 17, 2006
Lysistrata
by Aristophanes

February 28-March 3
Complete with all the appropriate raunchiness and naughtiness, one of the world’s oldest—certainly funniest—anti-war plays comes to the Gifford stage. A young Athenian woman, Lysistrata, is tired of the war and enlists her women friends to help end it. Her solution is to have all of the women withhold sex from their men until the fighting stops! Warning: Lysistrata is not appropriate for children or those offended by adult humor.

Tickets for this production are $6.00 for adults, $5.00 for students

Box Office will be open from February 19 - March 2, 2007
All the Great Books (abridged)
by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor

April 18-21
Described by one critic as “literature’s greats hits condensed into a ninety-minute roller coaster ride of hilarity,” All the Great Books (abridged) features a high school coach, a snooty drama teacher and an energetic student teacher who are drafted to teach a remedial crash course in world literature to make sure all of us can graduate with the rest of the class...and on time!

Tickets for this production are $6.00 for adults, $5.00 for students

Box Office will be open from April 9 - 20, 2007
